Benefits of Irish Dance

  • Irish Dance is different from other sports because dancers may compete as part of a team, individually or both!  In addition, dancers who chose to be a part of the performance troupe learn the difference in just dancing versus presenting a professional, polished show
  • Confidence – the more time a dancer spends on stage, the more confident they become.
  • Stamina - have you ever tried to do one step of Irish Dance?  Imagine practicing several hours at a time, several days a week!
  • Social Skills – dancers quickly make friends in class as well as the other activities KBS offers
  • Coordination – kids with “two left feet” will develop into beautiful dancers.
  • Mental Skills – dancers must listen and remember steps and patterns.  Instructors teach sayings to help dancers to remember steps, which strengthens memorization skills.
  • Timing and Rhythm – dancers understand how to listen to music, count beats, and dance with the music.
